My locomotives are subject to intermittent stops--at random. They will run perfectly 10 to 15 times around the layout and then for no apparent reason (track is flat and clean) will stop. A slight nudge restores electrical contact, but the train might only move 1mm and stop again. It might take several cycles of stops, nudges, etc. before the train will continue on around the layout.
As it's happening to all three of my locomotives I'm wondering if it's the Mobil Station or something else. Any good ideas will be appreciated. Thanks. |

Does it always happen in the same place?
Try rubbing a clean white cloth over the track at the point where the train stops. If you get a black line on the cloth, then there was some dirt on the track. Clean the track thoroughly with a rag soaked in solvent. See if that makes a difference.
It sounds unlikely to me that it be a problem with your MS, if you can get the train to run by nudging it.

I agree with Ray. If it happens to all your locos and at the same spots on the layout then dirt in the track is probably the cause.When a loco stops move it back a bit then clean the track where it stopped and try to run to forward again. If you are using C track you should have no problems if K track check for ballast which may be loose. (if you use ballast) The only other thing could be some track parts not connected properly.

If it is a newer mfx decoder they can be very sensitive to data loss so the slightest signal drop can cause the train to come to a stand still and even stop on a clean section of track. |

I have same or similar experiences with Delta,and FX models. Cleaning the rails, center studs, and slider usually helps. For some odd reason, sinus models are less prone to this.
You may want to also check the wheels for dust and grime.
