Perhaps so the Capitole, surely no the FS E424, produced for many years. |

The Capitole is fairly rare, but can be found relatively easily in France second hand shops. I have two of these excellent timeless machines: one 3-rail version for the home layout (converted to 5 pole digital) and a two rail DC Hamo version 8359 running on the Memorail club HO layout here near Cahors,France http://www.memorail.quercylot.comTo me, the best way to display one's collection is to run them, albeit with some respect!! Since I cannot find enough of the Marklin Capitole coaches, they actually pull a prototypical 8 coaches ROCO consist. Always a crowd pleaser in this part of the world where the Capitole was once the pride of the region and the fastest scheduled train in France! |

Hi Alberto, I think you missed the most rare 3035 version: The E 636. O.K., I confess. It is a fake, using your scans of the box. But would have been a nice Marklin-model. Markus

Very nice page. I love the 2x3035 and the 2x3019. Just a little question. Do you know if it is possible for the 3x3030 to drive trough the curves? It seems to be very long and very non-flexible. It's a very nice model too.
Thank you for sharing the great pictures of the 3000-models.

Hi friends, the locos are done by a mysterious Demetrio's friend. He's very reserved, I too don't know his name. About the 3x3030 capability to drive the bends I'm waiting the exact answer from Demetrio. |

It should be fine - Kato have just released the SP Daylight in N, with the articulated three-unit kitchen car (three cars on four trucks). That extends for curves in much the same way as Marklin HO close coupler mechanisms do so it can handle fairly tight trackwork.
If the builder didn't manage to cram such a mechanism into that loco then you'd probably need to have the two "halves" slightly further apart than scale, but it shouldn't be a problem. |

Received now the answer, the 2x3030 runs everywhere, the 3x3030 needs minimum the R2 radius. |

Hi Alberto,
Have you converted these locomotives to digital operation, or are you running them with their original analog configurations?
Excellent work! I am looking forward to the 3047 file-card.

It's my care to preserve the original conditions of these models. I think also to the next generations wich will inherit them, and their historical value. In my wishes there is also a vintage layout all original. The 3047/3048 are the first steams in list, but before them there are something other. bye |
