Hello again!

I own the V160 from starter set 29845. It was bought from a split starter set and I did get the manual for it.

However the manual does not state how to change the address as it is MFX and should not need changing - however I use a 6021.

I figured out that paramater 1 sets the first address, no problem.
I tried changing paramater 2 for the second address but did not work.

What is the paramater to change the second address on this loco and what does paramater 2 do?

Thanks!

Hello Applor, if you go to the below mention link you will finde the manual you are missing.

http://medienpdb.maerkli.../1/pdf/29845_betrieb.pdf

P.s. the lokomotiv is with fx decoder with dip.switch selection.

Hope it will help.

It seems like the first link does not work - then go to this link finde the set 29845 and do the download from there.

A little high jack here - I have the Diesel Sound Generating Car #49964. It auto registers with my MS but if I want to use it with my 6021 I don't have the digital address. I have read and reread the manual (I just went to the site mentioned above and downloaded the document again) but it doesn't indicate the factory address setting - can anyone help?

Best Regards,

JonnyMac

Hi JonnyMac.
It seem like it does not work with the old märklin digitalcontrol but only with Märklin systems.

It's an ordinary LokSound mfx loco decoder.
You should program CV 75 to an address of your choice to use it with a 6021 (for functions f5 through f8).

There are no lights, so you have to do the programming without feedback.

You should also program CV 75 to use the Diesel engine sound. Set it to the address of the Diesel loco you want to use it with.

Edit: error correction

Cem.

Thankyou for the info. The early Marklin MFX sound locos used ESU decoders?
Do you know what the default is for CV2?

I must have the wrong catalog number then, as mine is definately MFX, it has a 21pin decoder with no dip switches.

Hi,

I don't know if they were ESU but I'd say probably.

I don't remember the default factory setting of CV2 but it should be low like 1 or 2, I'll check the default. It is the voltage which you want the loco to start at. No harm if you try different settings but I guess 0 wouldn't work Cool

Cheers,

Cem.

Hello,

CV02 - Starting voltage: determines the minimum speed, can be set between 01 - 63, factory default 03 on ESU Mfx Loksounds.

See this link:

The non-ESU mfx decoders AFAIK started with the BR 141 / E 41.
So for at least three years all mfx decoders were from ESU.

Maybe your loco is from 29820/1.
