Hi,

I've been watching from the sidelines for a while now and well I think the time has come to commit. I've cleared the garage, found a plan (thought it best to work with an existing plan for my first layout)and I just need a little assistance to get the ball rolling. That's hopefully where you guys (& gals) and this wonderful community come in.

I've found a layout published originally in edition 6 of the Marklin Magazine, 2008. It fits the space and more importantly gives me nearly everything I'm looking for. I've downloaded the plan from the Marklin website but I wondered if there was feature article in the magazine? I would like to get hold of a copy if there is an associated article but I dont know where to start.

Any assitance will be much appreciated.

JD

Greetings Muj,
I suppose this is the 3-tongue layout with size 460 X 275 cm?
I have a Dutch copy of MM 06 2008,i can scan pages if you wish.
Cheers,
Paul.

What Muj wants is the supporting article,he found the trackplan already,so he does not need that!
The database of the Marklin trackplans does not provide the full text articles as contained in the Marklin Magazine!

Paul (NS1200),

It is the 3-tongue layout (460 X 275) and you are right, I do already have the track plan (but appreciate the pointer from MMERVINE, thanks). I've already built the framework, ordered the first batch of track....it is a big undertaking.....but I'm so looking forward to it. I would be so grateful if you could scan the pages in, translation, like the project, will be a labour of love but nothing a few evenings, a little wine and google cant resolve :-)......if all else fails the sister-in-law is dutch!

MMERVINE - Again thanks for the link

IAN555 - Thank you - its nice to be here.

I already have the English version of that edition of the magazine scanned. I'll put it somewhere for download, but be aware the file is 100mb in size.

Welcome to the forum JD.

Hi JD,
Excellent idea to use a plan prepared by Märklin, can save you a lot of bother.
Are you using the K or C track version?

regards
Kimball

NEVW - Thank you...love the fact that M-lovers span the globe

Kimball - I bought the Marklin track plan book, spent weeks trying to design my own, then finally when I saw this plan I thought it ticked all the boxes. Have modified the plan by adding a larger shadow station - will try and post. Went with C track just because I'm starting from scratch so wanted to go with the latest, (not sure it's better over K - K has better flexibility). First batch of track is in (shadow station), have 20 turnout motors to install and wire up to Viessmann 5211's.

Well JD, the C track can save a lot of bother just on its own. No mess.
I lay mine down on crinkled paper, or some of the scenic mats, it helps to deaden the sound.
