Hi!

I recently bought an ESU Lokprogrammer to upgrade some of my non- sound locos with ESU Loksound decoders. What I am struggling with is that I am unable to take the sound fragments from existing Sound Projects and add them to other sound Projects. For e.g. I would like to take the coupling and pantograph sound fragements from Re 6/6 project file and add them to Ae 6/6 project file. My question is whether this is possible or not. If yes, how do I export the sound fragment (.wav) files from an existing sound project?

I understand that this may not be correct forum for raising a question about ESU Lokprgrammer but I thought several people on this forum are existing users of Lokprogrammer and maybe able to help me out.

Thanks a bunch in advance for your inputs.

Cheers,

Chris

Have you tried,by visit at ESU homepages and searching at download...?
There is more information at theirs link.
You can also write an question to ESU,by to find out how to do that with lokprogrammer.

Good luck!

I am only new to playing with sound on the LokProgrammer so my knowledge is limited. One important thing to remember is that one cannot read the sound from a decoder. You can only write it. You therfore need to download a loco sound project from the ESU website which you want to use and the write the sounds and sound assignments from it to the decoder.

You can also download special sounds such a pantograph up/down from the ESU website. You can then extract these sound parts and copy into your loco project (as long as you have suffient time capacity left on the decoder). See section 9.2 of the manual. Now write the sounds only to the deceoder.

You then need to assign the sound file to a vacant user sound slot (ie not coloured blue). See section 9.6. Now write the sound assignments to the decoder.

Finally you need to map the sound slot to a function key. See Section 8.6 ( The last row of table is where the sound slot numbers get entered.) Now write the decoder data to the decoder.

Hope these very brief note give you a some clues. Have a read of my topic a few weeks ago for more on this subject.
