Joined: 07/02/2008(UTC) Posts: 216 Location: Lindome, Sweden		Nordic Refinance has purchased one Re 620 with option to buy several more. The locos will be equipped with ATC (Swedish AutomaticTrain Control safety system) and leased to freight haulers. Joined: 28/11/2007(UTC) Posts: 8,369 Location: Montreal, QC		Apparently, the Re 620 lease program was suspended and scrapped after Nordic Rail Finance discovered the presence of Asbestos in the locomotives. Accordingly, the locomotives that had been reserved and were being held in Switzerland will remain there and the already delivered locomotive (620 052) will be scrapped in Sweden at the cost of SBB. It was announced that SBB Cargo is selling the remaining locomotives of its Re 482 (000-031) fleet to Nordic Rail Finance (Feb. 2026). It is not known whether this deal was connected to the cancellation of the Re 620 deal. SBB Cargo and SBB Cargo International are presently dealing with decreased traffic and have been seeking to reduce costs by trimming the fleet of certain locomotive types (Re 474, ES64F4 Lease Units) in addition to planned retirement of Re 4/4II (420/421/430) and Re6/6 classes over time.
