Hi all,

I am trying to connect to the download page and it seems to be down. Maybe maintenance?

Anyway, I was trying to change my Key ( I paid last October but have never installed the program yet) from my Mac where i have it, to an old Intel Macbook Pro in which I am running Ubuntu and have deleted all trace, I hope, of Rocrail and will download it again, simply because I cannot figure out how to launch the program in Linux.

And I am trying to find out the way to do this computer and OS directly from the developers, before I do any more damage.

Just a comment, and maybe just maybe a suggestion would help.

Santiago

Have you checked the www.isitdownrightnow.com site? It tells me that wiki.rocrail.net is down for everyone, but I don't know if that is where you are trying to access the software.

But now it seems to be working so it must definitely have been a daily maintenance time.

I cannot find any information though on wether the Support Key I have on my Mac is transferable to my Linux machine, which I am trying out and considering to dedicate solely to the layout. Does anyone have a quick answer to my question?

Hello Santiago,

on this page: https://wiki.rocrail.net/doku.php?id=supportkey-en ,
at the top of the page, it is written you can use your support key on all your computers...

Cheers
Fabrice

Yes yes, Dear Fabrice, I saw that. My question is more related to if I can just copy the Key on a USB stick on my Mac, and plug it in to my Linux machine and copy it. So it is a cross system doubt really.

I am struggling with Rocrail, I thought I couldn´t get it to work on Linux ( mainly because what the wiki says the zip file will do, it DOES NOT do), like place something that works on the Desktop and create a Rocrail Folder...but it seems it did work. I got a single loco to work ( the first one I tried) to run from Rocrail in Manual, before I input the track plan. But it stops in 3 random places for an instant while going around.

Thanks
Santiago

Yes, that Linux version of Rocrail is hard work, but stick with it as it will be cheaper for you in the long run. Linux is much less demanding of computer hardware than Mac or Windows.
