I know a few people, who are members here, do use the Train Controller software. So, if you are a member of their forum, tell them that I am happy to host a sub-forum here (at no cost) should there be no other place for the English-speaking forum to go. Their site close date fits in with the roll out of the latest version of this forum during September this year.

I think we'll have to wait for more information.

Yes, I think we need to wait for more information to be issued. But thanks for the offer - it may turn out to be a very useful resource.

I’m hoping that Mr Freiwald has some sort of “succession planning” in place! Nothing and nobody lives for ever, and I think there are quite a lot of people who rely on TrainController. I have a *huge* amount invested in it - not money (though it’s not a particularly cheap product) but hours and days and weeks and months and years of work on programming my layout. I have hundreds of locos and trains in TC, and hundreds of “Schedules” (train operating programs) that I have developed.

As of 2019, there were more than 20,000 members of the TrainController forum, but I’ve no means of knowing how many there are now, or how many active paying customers for the software.

We will have to wait and see what happens . . .
