It's been a while since I've seen a hopes and dreams thread so I figure I'll be the next "spammer" to make one. We'll get the most important request out of the way. If we can have an Afri-Cola wagon, why not a Club-Mate wagon? Surely there's a market opportunity there. That logo would look great on the side of an Interfrigo.

Slightly more seriously (though I would genuinely buy a Club-Mate wagon, even a start-up one!) - I ended up in a couple conversations recently with people who are annoyed to not have coaches for the Class A3. One also complained about it not having a 2004 Apple-Green livery option (not the first person I know who wants that), so I'll wishlist that on their behalf. I had a fun idea though - the British Rail Class 43 HST is a popular model in OO, N and TT; it's run in Germany, Mexico and Nigeria (albeit as "cargo" in Germany and presumably France, on it's way to a show). Three pairs regularly run around Britain hauling HABFIS wagons (converter cars so the 43's can be used for stock drags) so there's a lot of potential for modelling them in H0. You'd need a small tooling variation on the lower valance to account for buffers (UK/euro demo run), smooth (UK/Nigeria) and Janney (Mexico) though really that's just the buffers on one and a removable panel covering a NEM socket on both. Anyway - the Class 43 hauls Mk3 coaches which can be used by Steam, and have been hauled by the A1 Tornado; so COULD be used as a passable rake behind a Flying Scotsman. So that's two birds with one stone! Three even, if they just made a Class 66 with a British livery...LOL

So that's my third wishlist item - a Class 66 in a fun British livery. I'm gonna suggest 66068 in the "Pride in Motion" livery. One, it's DB Cargo so has a German link. Two, I want one. And three, AFAICT no-one has done it even in OO so there's a gap in the market. Love

I have given up on the 80.8mm C-Track piece.

TL:DR - Club-Mate Interfrigo, Class 43 solo in German livery and with Mk 3 coaches in British/Mexican/Nigerian liveries, Gay shed.

What else in H0 do people wish that Marklin would come out with next?

The UK HST is also the basis of the Australian HST that runs (does it still?) between Sydney, Canberra, and (I think) Brisbane and Melbourne.

If they could make that work too, I'd love it. You'd need a lot more tooling though - the different Class 43's just need the buffers and lower valance changed; for the XPT the wholo loco is shorter and the XPT uses completely different coaches apart from the bogies.

Took me a few minutes to work out what a Revvivo coach was - they're lovely!

And Kingdom of Saxony is a state railway company from pre WW1? They have some pretty loco's!

I’ve almost at the other end of the spectrum and needing to think about pruning my collection before its final transmission of ownership. However that doesn’t stop me dreaming.

My priority would be coaches for my Flying Scotsmen to pull. I would buy another livery for the Scotsman ( not the AC/DC ) and as my wife points out I don’t really need another red and black steam locomotive.

I suspect that when (if?) they do finally bring out the apple green version of the Scotsman, that is when we will see some coaches.

To date the Märklin productions of the UKs Flying Scotsman have been very faithful to its present running condition, ie. era VI.
I am not sure how cost effective it would be to re-present it in a form that faithfully modelled LNER (to 1948) or GNR (to 1923/4) days apple green.
The differences to todays Flying Scotsman were manifold and reasonably obvious, but maybe most modellers would not care about any of those inconsistencies.

Perhaps with subtle judicious minimal changes to the body moulding it might work for Märklin, and good luck to Märklin if they can do it.

HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge.
