The gold in gold-plating, or leaf gold, is so thin that the cost is minimal.
20 sheets of gold leaf (150mm x 150mm) is about AUD$20.
It is the plating process which is costly because it takes time to set up facilities and run the operation.

Does anyone have inside info?

I will anyway pre-order this one for sure.

The lok is the same as 37065 but with a little update.. not a new tooling...

I was seeing the images in the Märklin product page and the image with a view from the side rear window shows the commands panel in the cab over the firebox, so it really seems they are using the same motor and so just a little update.

I am pretty sure this refresh will be new DC motor (not the old DCM) with the capacitor, otherwise they would not be able to have the open cab view.

Looks like Roco should reveal their CSD 477.0 or maybe 498.0 Mellow

Three different releases in the same year so demand might cover LOL

Märklin/Trix Roco and mtb

"Controlled high-performance drive with flywheel in the boiler."
This is not the description of an old DCM.
Let's wait the "explosion sheet" appear to lift all doubts Laugh

Yes, I think we stopped debating when we realized that the most important highlight wasn’t even on the top list, while smoke generators were ThumpUp

I would be very surprised.
Indeed the Stadler has not officially appeared in real.
Would be strange to choose this model for the Märklin Store 2026 knowing all the other variants have not been released yet. You can’t announce a Märklin Store 2026 and deliver it in 2027. It makes no sense.

Well, there are two Stadlers in the 2026 NI, and I seem to recall there was noises about one late last year, but I think it could be the Austrian one in the 2026 NI.

It wouldn't surprise me to find that delivery of the store items squeezes right to the end of the year. The 2025 wagon kept slipping until it was eventually delivered in December.

Yes there are 2 Stadlers announced this year. And one last year. But they are all meant to be delivered in … 2027 (if you read the catalogues correctly Flapper )

Now isn't it funny how they are doing the same blue steam loco as Marklin/Trix. I wonder who will get it to market first.

I like the Gold Big Boy and ordered one this morning. It’s Nostalgic for me as it is USA 250. It will go with my weathered Big boy . I see that Brawa has several of the era 1/2 low flat cars with loads that I like. I like the brawa 1/2 early stuff since I prefer that era.

Ajdkids.com in the USA is my preferred dealer, even with them a long time. Guy and the crew are great

Thats the second time in recent memory (SBB Ae 3/6I, which Roco have had on fire sale to clear out inventory of for a good year now) - can't be good for both firms unless there is some kind of behind the scenes cooperation?

On an unrelated note, what a fun and interesting prototype. Not my thing but I really enjoy looking at it and learning about it.

It sure was exciting to watch the YouTube presentation from Märklin of New Items 2026.
I have also looked through the PDF of the catalogue.

Unfortunately there is not a single Norwegian or Swedish model.
No US boxcars for the Big Boys.
No Spur 1 items I want.
I could have bought item 43886 if only it was 1:87 in length scale, as I only by true 1:87 models.

I think this will be the first year since 1995 that I won't buy a single item. Strange feeling. A little sad too.

There is the possibility/probability that the Roco version of the Czech 477 is one of the prototype versions without the side saddle tanks. MäTrix appears to have the saddle tank version, so one could conceivably buy both and have a full complement in the Bw.

btw, a company MTB is also doing a 477...

https://mtb-model.com/index.php?...p;lang=de&meritko=H0

Or buy all three for the "Three-Peat" LOL

Nothing for me this year in the new items 2026, but I will have the BR249 from the new items of last year. I will imagine it is for this year new items…

I've only 2 new items on pre-order.

Märklin 39400 Big Boy.

This is gonna be my 9th Märklin Big Boy. I only miss 37992 which is the same as 37991 but weathered.

Märklin 38444 ES44AC.

As I'm collecting american Märklin models this was a must. I must say that the colors looks ugly but maybe I like the colors when I have it in hand.

It fits my wallet much better. I really like the TEE car 43866 with a moving conductor as I've started collecting cars for my 39153 and also the slag cars 46146 for my blast furnace as I only have one slag car. I'm considering ordering them too. I have a tighter budget as I'll probably start studying in a year's time. Also I'm building my layout.

Also Resident Evil Requiem and Re-Animal are gonna be released on Playstation 5 and also I'd like to buy Transformers Omega Supreme and Trypticon...I need to stop having several super expensive hobbies. LOL

I must admit I quite like the colour scheme. It doesn't go as far as being "pretty", but I wouldn't class it as ugly.

So Roco will publish New Items 2026 for H0 scale today? Is this confirmed?
There is no sign of this on their webpage: https://www.roco.cc/ren/roco-news.html
I guess this is where it will show up?

Hoping for some nice Scandinavian models.

My top three wishes:

1) Swedish Rc 6 in blue livery with red stripe, one-leg pantos and a yellow signal-light on the sidewalls: https://www.jarnvag.net/...ide/Rc61370Malmo2005.jpg
2) Swedish Rc2, former ÖBB 1043, in silver livery with red stripes and one-leg pantos: https://www.jarnvag.net/...istinehamn180205stor.jpg
3) A set of Lgns waggons for timer transport (like Märklin 47067). Can easily be changed to represent different companies, Hectorrail, TÅGAB etc.)

The only rumour I heard is a possible reissue of the Roco SBB RABDe 500, as Roco have released a post observing that this model is hugely popular, and they did not make enough and that second hand versions sell for double the original price. I think they intend to tap into that demand and why not.

I saw that Roco post about the ICN. I don't exactly know what the reason for that post was. I do know that it was reported from a number of sources that the molds for the RABDe 500 (ICN) were lost/damaged and that a new model would require the development of new molds to be able to issue a new version.

Since the original pair of models, there remains a possibility that Roco could release a model in the liveries that were introduced since then. I would also welcome a model of the prototype with the Expo 02 markings.

What I would definitely hope for is that Roco would ensure that any new model would include better and brighter lights than the headlights/hi-beams of the original model.

As Roco has announced it is making a model of the Stadler Railjet trains, it would be nice if they could also make the RABe 512 of the SBB.

Here is what I am expecting to see in 2026:

Maerklin/Trix: SBB Cargo Vectron X-Load
Maerklin/Trix/Piko: RABe 501 (SMILE) of Westbahn
Maerklin/Trix: Siemens HC ODEG (Elbe-Spree)

Other thoughts: 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the Seetal Crocodile. Maerklin/Trix might commemorate this with a special model (Zinkpest not included)
It is also the 100th anniversary of the DB BR44 Steam locomotive

Hoping to see: BLS MIKA, SOB Treno Gottardo

Regards

Mike C

Mike

Now we know it is being reissued and so very happy. In fact a nice selection from Roco so it will be an expensive year LOL LOL LOL

Thank you, Roland.
When clicking the links I get a white page and "about:blank".
When going to Roco/catalogues I get a blank page and "page not available".
Perhaps too many people accessing the server.

Finally, I was able to access the catalouge here:
https://www.trainsdepot..../roco-neuheiten-2026_pdf

I am impresseed by how many new items Roco is able to produce, and I salute them for making models from many countries.

For me, there was only one model this year: item 6600311. And the releasedate in a whole year ahead (Q4-26).
And not a single Märklin-item this year either.

I will save so much money this year Crying
