Does anyone have experience with duplicating the screen from their CS3 to a PC, wirelessly?Blink

I have downloaded and installed RealVNC Viewer on my old PC (Windows 8.1), and can easily display the CS3's screen on my PC, if I have them connected with a network cable. I would then go a step further and do it wirelessly. This should be possible by taking a TP-Link Nano router, connecting it to the home network via PC, and then removing it from the PC and connecting it to the CS3, so that the CS3 now has its own wifi.

The problem is just….that it doesn't work. I have followed all the instructions, restarted PC, router, CS3, everything is installed and set up as it should. But when I try to access CS3 via RealVNC Viewer, I get an error: “Timed out waiting for a response from the computer”

I don’t know where to start troubleshooting, because with multiple devices (PC, CS3, Two routers, tplinkwifi), there are hundreds of settings that could be wrong – and I have no experience with internet and routers in particular.

I now tried with another, newer PC. But it can't even get in contact with the CS3 by cable. What the heck am I doing wrong?

You may need to set a static IP address on the cs3 (along with all the other fields) as the PC may not act as a DHCP server, or the DHCP server hasn't been enabled.

When you connect the CS3 to the router you need to do it but not to the yellow ethernet socket. The other socket turns the router into a wifi broadcaster. Then you just enter the ip address of the CS3 into the pc. But that gives you limited features. You can do the same with a smart phone or pad. RealVNC allpws the pc to completely mirror the CS3 but is kind of a pain - to me. Connecting that way is complicated but Marklin Dudes did a video on how which is available on YouTube.

Be attention about IP adress...sometimes it shows no numbers in the CS3 system settings by check after IP adress number before to write same number in the URL.
In this case you cannot open PC with the CS3.
I did had this problem sometimes and yet I do have DHCP automatic set.
No problem by use my wifi router and I have fire walls too.

One thing to remember before using a wifi router is that the CS3 needs to be aware of the connection in order to use it. So you must always power up the router before the CS3. If the ip address in the CS3 is blank and the router is powered you can simply reset the CS3. Have done that many times.
