Hi all I know silly question and meybey pointless
But I have a northlander similar to this model online and noticed a lack of felt or something that would be used to protect the trains when they first got shipped to clients
It’s a minor detail but I just love adding it to mine
Was this set ever shipped with felt / thin foam ?
I checked online but found no box having it
It’s just something I like adding to my sets
Thank you all and happy holidays

I scanned through available images of this set that I could find online and most of them did not show the felt pads. There was one listing on Ricardo which featured some kind of protection, but it did not look like normal liners.

This one from Austria (eBay) had some plastic sheets, but once again not original Maerklin: https://www.ebay.at/itm/197603337497?

I guess that you could put some lining material, but I am guessing that Maerklin chose not to probably to protect the roof details like the horns and the bells.

The 3741 Dutch TEE model had a hard plastic cradle with a plastic lid and some listings show the model with felt and others do not.
