Märklin has made a new advertising video. Cool

Seems like something has happened to the BR 74, e.g. at 1:11 ?, as the cab seems to be loose. But then that's probably why it's in the crane in the first place Wink

Edit: I take back anything positive I just said.

This film is created with AI.

Shame on Marklin.

Sheesh right there in the notes on the youtube..."Film ist KI mit KI erstellt." (as translated by EB421) Crying Sheesh ThumbDown ...it is not like they do not have archive film for the old bits...WE have archive film here somewhere...

Well caught EB421...I did wonder at the rather "perfect" Blink make-up jobs on the "actors" and their respective appendages...just a bit too smooth

more on it a bit further down in the description:

Quote:
This video contains parts of AI-generated content to bring back the magic of the past, where it was no longer possible with new video recordings and archive material.

original text:
Quote:
Dieses Video enthält Teile von KI generierten Inhalten, um den Zauber der Vergangenheit auch dort zurückzuholen, wo es mit neuen Videoaufnahmen und Archivmaterial nicht mehr möglich war.

So some parts are AI, but not all.....

Im not an expert, but it seems like <5% of the content is AI generated... Hardly enough to be upset about.

Of course this is harder and harder to spot every time, so a small icon in a corner indicating AI-generated content would be nice! (Maybe it should be law, but i degress...)

My take would be they have used AI to clean up the old film, which at this resolution would have looked very grainy, along with dust and processing specs, and possibly scratches.

IMHO that would be "AI-enhanced"; upscaled, coloured, cleaned, stabilized, etc. -in comparison to "AI-generated"; Sora, Kling, Veo...
Semantics maybe, but precision is important. ;-)
