I just installed a new signal 76491: I registered it correctly in CS2 and I insulated the corresponding section of track. I made the connections -I think correctly- and when I put the signal on red it doesn't cut the power on the track. Can anyone help me? Any ideas? What can I check? Many thanks

Check the wiring.
Maybe show some pictures here.

Do trains stop when you remove the red wire from the signal to the insulated section?

Tom

Hi,

From what you described the signal functions are operating correctly. It’s a bore but you need to re check the wiring and the insulators, to make sure everything is as it should be.

From the decoder there are 2 red wires from a single plug. One connects to the track behind the signal the other connects to the track between the insulators. Remove the one behind the signal. Have the signal set to a green position. The train should now stop in the insulated section as it is receiving no power. If it doesn’t stop the track is not insulated and you need to check them.

Hope this helps
Adrian

Thank you very much for your answer, it was really helpful because I didn't know if the problem was the isolation of the tracks or a malfunction of the decoder. I have done several tests based on your comments and, finally, I have solved it using the small red pieces that are placed at the ends of the tracks to isolate the necessary section.
It is not, by any means, the first signal that I have installed in my layout, but it is the first time that I have encountered this problem.
Many thanks again!
