Guys, I’m sorry if this is posted somewhere, I’ve searched and can’t find it. I’m trying to upgrade my Railbus that is currently running with a 66032 decoder with the original motor. I have installed a 60943 motor but I’m struggling to work out the wiring. I don’t know where to connect the brown and black wires from the decoder. My other 60943 motors don’t have that black wire at all. IMG_3090.jpeg

The decoder is for AC/DC motors with three connections, the new DC motor only has two connections.
It is easy to connect a modern decoder to the old AC/DC motor.
But I do not see an easy solution to connect the old decoder to the new motor.
Regards
Tom

I’m afraid it can’t be done, the 66032 decoder is for an AC motor only. If you want the better running characteristic you will need a 60972 or equivilant.

I thought about it and I think it can be done with two additional diodes.

I searched the Internet.
The solution was documented on Dr. König's site and also on the old marklin.com site, but both sites are gone.

Thank you guys! I really appreciate that - no wonder I was having trouble. We’re going to just get the new decoder too.

That’s a good solution, will work well and you still have the old decoder that can be used in another analogue loco if you want a cheap digital conversion.
