I run my trains using an Uhlenbrock 2neo Intellibox equipped with mfx.

There is no problem with my MS2 registering mfx locos and these operate perfectly.

However, when i place my mfx locos on my 2neo Intellibox powered track nothing happens.

What am I doing incorrectly?

Can anybody advise, please?

Thanks.

Are you adding them one at a time so that the neo has time to register?

Yes. Nothing else including coaches and wagons on the track.

Did you change the register setting to enable mfx in the Intellibox? By default it is not set, or at least wasn't on my brand new box. Setting it will enable the mfx format, allow the discovery of locos and provide them an address for controlling them.

Initially, I hadn't but after contacting Uhlenbrock's free helpline yesterday [Mondays and Tuesdays 1400 - 1600 nd spoke to a very helpful and patient assistant who advised to do exactly what you recommend. I had not been aware this had to be done because the manual states you just have to place the mfx loco on the track!

The correct sequence to register mfx on the Intellibox 2neo is:

MODE >use the LEFT hand side of the Neo2 > DECODER PROGRAMMING > SPECIAL OPTIONS > Change CV to 466, Value 1 > press enter. Remove power from unit for 10 seconds and then restore. Your loco then appears in the loco list as mfx 300.

It's a shame that the manual cannot be more explicit particularly as one of the star features of the 2neo is the integral mfx facility. I am aware that many have given up on Uhlenbrock and moved onto Roco's z21 because of inconsistencies, distorted assumptions of prior knowledge and lack of detail. However, I suppose all this keeps dementia at bay if nothing else!

Thanks for your reply.
