A ski lift would be an interesting addition to any layout. There is just something special about seeing the action such a feature adds. I have not seen many articles about Z scale ski lifts recently but this does not mean they are not being added to new layouts.

A fellow member of this forum showed what he came up with just a few years ago. His post and comments have photos and diagrams for building such a thing. Just search the small scale forum using “ski lift - custom build” and you should be able to see and read about his work. I am not sure if the post would provide a complete plan but this may be a basis for a good starting point. Unfortunately, I have not seen posts from this member for a while.

I have not added a ski lift to my layout so have few other suggestions to offer. I have noticed 3d printed ski lift chairs and gondolas being offered in Z and sold on eBay. I have not purchased these but just seeing what is offered, they look like they would work. Just search for these in the Model Trains, Z scale section.

I hope this helps with this interesting project. Should you go with this task , please share your results with the group. Maybe I should add one if it doesn’t seem too difficult.
