Hello,

Can anyone help me build a picture of the Liliput 4006 G.Bad.St.E. IVh 1001 or perhaps 1013?

From my searches, it is from 1983, analogue, has a blue livery and I don't have one (yet). The DC version (4000) can be seen on Youtube. All other details elude me at this time.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

With kind regards
Stephen

Ps Do any other manufacturers make steam locomotives in AC with the blue livery?

Many thanks and kind Regards

Hi Stephen,
Are you talking about the one for sale at wilmancars in Tasmania?
ebay listing
The seller lists pretty much all you would need to know.
This one is tender driven, and my guess is it has a larger motor than later examples.
I cannot tell you anything about the sturdiness of the mechanism, but my experience with Liliput is only modern digital since about 2012.
In the few that I have the motors are tiny and can fail reasonably easily, example left running up against a buffer stop.
Motor and gearbox were replaced on my one failure, luckily I got the last one available from Bachmann Europe who distribute Liliput.

Thanks Kimball,

Unfortunately this one on eBay is not a 4006, but a Liliput 1807 (18 451).

I am looking for a mate for my Märklin 39021 (IVh 1002). See attached photo of a Liliput 4006.

I have a little knowledge regarding digital Liliput locos. My father picked up a couple at auction last year. It would be my intention to upgrade a Liliput 4006 to digital, should I aquire one, if this is possible. Perhaps a motor upgrade too if it does not run well enough.

Thanks again,
Stephen

Hi all,

Some potentially useful fodder:

- Marklin equivalents are 39021 and 39022. Also the later DRG 39020 etc...
- I had the liliput models, nice but ancient tech/performance/detail by today's standards.

Regarding the liliput upgrade, if I remember correctly they are still a DC motor, so the conversion of an existing AC model (with slider etc...) should be easy.

A related question for the era 1 experts on this loco: what is the logic between the green and the blue?

Was there a time period for one vs the other? (meaning, started one color then painted another)
Or did color tie back to specific road numbers until they eventually wound up DRG black?
Or did color have something to do with build phases/batches? (which I guess also goes back to road numbers)

I'd be curious to learn. thanks in advance!
