I did some looking online at a Marklin CS3, CS3+. I don't know if this is due to a tarrif, but I know I did not pay $710 US in 2021 for my CS3+. More like $650 ish.
Additionally, I looked at a Dual C-618Q diretc drive phono turntable, and it has gone up $200 since last month. Made in China, sent to Germany, then to the US. So the tarrif applies twice.Angry Angry

I am wondering what US dealers will do with Insider models, which were ordered pre-tariff and will be shipped here after the tariffs have gone into effect.

I don't think the double tariff will apply since a product can only have one country of origin, but this whole process is so chaotic that I could be wrong.
Regards,
Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time.

Marklin have recently announced price increases, see this Stummis post for the increases of 2022 items that are still available - Google translate will work for you. There is a current recommended retail price list available here.

For USA, the duties on models from China have gone from 10% to 145% and then back down to 30%. The duties on models from Germany went up and are currently at 10% AFAIK.
I don't know if there have been any changes on EU imports from China. Maerklin (Goeppingen) prices are not affected by US tariffs on China. Only the price of items exported to the USA and distributed by Marklin USA.

If I was buying a CS3 in the States, I would try to find out if the item has been in stock for more than a few months, and if it has been sitting at the dealer since 2024, I would offer them the pre-tariff price because the tariffs on a replacement unit for stock is not your problem.
If it is something that they have to order from Marklin USA, then the tariffs and new prices will apply.

Regards

Mike C

Just bought mine from Euro Models Train at $680 (60226, not the Plus version).
I checked and it doesn't show any on their website now.
