I have not used this engine for a while now, I just took it from the shelve out to the garden and the sounds is just not working.
This came from 55033, my first gauge 1 set I got from the missus 20 years ago.

Are there any known issues, or steps you can recommend me checking?
I made a short video showing the loco disassembled, and what I have tries so far.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Hi Csongor
Here a Märklinist HO with many sound locomotives from 2000 onwards.
Your train set is 2004 so before mSD period, so the sound is external and usually the cause for failures much before decoder failires

The key failures are:
- the loudspeaker in open mode (not making any resistance) --> needs replacement
- sound module dead (period 2000 - 2008) not replaceable. Usually replace the whole decoder with an mSD3
- temporary or permanent sound absence on mSD decoders from 2010. A decoder reset may help. One of my locos stopped having a sound for one year then it came back after many resets

Sorry it is all I have.
Jean

Thanks. The speaker measures 3 ohms, therefore I think that still OK.
How do you reset the decoder?
