Guys, we’re restoring another old 3000 and I can find only one wire coming out of the winding at the back. Is there a way to either find or cut something for the reverse power line?

Hi John
In these "C'shaped" inductors there are
- 2 soldering points on the coil (to go to yje direction relay)
- 2 enameled wires coming out of the core of the coil (not the periphery) Those are wired to the adjacent brush nearby.

If the 2 latter wires are broken EITHER you may find a minimal length to solder a repair wire OR you need to change the inductor.
Attention: depending on the fabrication year the motor is either a SFCM (before 1981 or so) or a DCM They are not interchangeable but easy to find as a left-over or a digital conversion.
Cheers
Jean

Thank you, Jean! Yes, it's a SFCM type motor. I have the "double" wire going to the bush. I also have ONE of the two directional wires but I can't find the other one coming out anywhere. I guess I just need to gently work around and see if I can find it hiding in the coil somewhere.

If you are talking of the stator coil, there should be three wires (of which one is a wire pair). If that's not the case, you need to un- and rewind the coil(s), or a new stator.

Yes, I'm talking about the stator coil. Okay, I'm going to see if I can gently unwind it to find the third wire. Thank you!
