Hello, I am an auctioneer in NW Ohio and working for the Estate of Stephan Cramer. Mr. Cramer was a large collector of Marklin Trains!! We currently have 200 lots listed on HiBid Ohio page for auction and probably have another 200+ lots to add in a couple of weeks. My goal is to try and reach the Marklin community with this information any help would be greatly appreciated. The first auction ends the 25th https://walter-auctions....klin-trains---auction--1

Very Interesting items and you have some " Gems" in the list. The bidding is very low in most of these cases, makes me think of what my collection is really worth :(. NW Ohio is an interesting place, I used to travel to "West Unity" for business. Sauders is located nearby.

I agree with Mayleneman: some of the items are almost ridiculously cheap at this moment. If it stays like this, you will encounter some happy bidders.

Maybe one reason for the low bids is it appears to be collection only (no shipping) so that puts me off as I do not know anyone in that area who i could ask to ship.
It is a shame as it looks like a nice collection. |
Don't look back, your not heading that way. |

It is a shame as it looks like a nice collection. When I bid on an item I am offered shipping. It looks like shipping being offered may be item dependant. The item I am looking at is quite small. It would be worth registering and seeing what you get offered for shipping Glen.

If the Ludwig cars have original boxes, why wouldn't they ship well if packed in foam peanuts, and or bubble wrap? They were shipped when new. Even without, they could be reboxed and cushioned.

I won an item in the bidding last night. This morning I sent an email to the seller and to their shipper. I will advise the members of the forum on my experience with this transaction.

Hello All,
I also bid on a few items and "won". Ha-ha -- you still have to pay for them, so is that considered "winning"? ;-) I contacted the auctioneer and was provided with info on how to proceed with getting the items shipped. More to follow...
Cheers, Andry

Hello Rick, Today, I received a reply to my query regarding the shipping issue. Here's my query and the reply I received: Q: I have written an e-mail to "Brian" (zewtreasures13@yahoo.com) a few days ago, but have not had any replies. I'm starting to worry that there's something wrong. A: There are no problems whatsoever. Your items will be picked up tomorrow. Once he has them in his possession, he will be in touch with you. I will speak with him later today & pass your concerns along to him. We haven't had any issues with their shipping. I'll wait to hear from "him"... Cheers, Andry |

I'm curious how shipping works out/costs for you guys. I didn't bid in avoidance of surprises, since I hadn't heard back from the shipping company when I enquired as such. If so I'll certainly be placing some bids next round. |

There are no worries Brian picked up all the shipping items today and he will weigh them so he can give you shipping price and any other info. Matt,

He does not reply directly because he doesn't know the weight and the number of items being shipped until the pick up. Now he has all of that and will be getting back with you. Matt

Hello All,
A quick update -- Today I received the following from the shipper: "We will be packing this weekend. I will be sending an email with the invoice amount. We accept Venmo or Paypal as payment."
So... not to worry -- shipping is being addressed, but I'm not sure of the cost. I guess we'll have to wait and see. With these ridiculous tariffs coming into effect on Tuesday, I'm getting my stuff shipped to a friend in the US!
Cheers, Andry

Yes I to received a reply from Brian over the weekend, and while checking that "Brian" was the correct name, I have an email from him about my shipping that came in while I am writing this. I appreciate the communication. I don't mind the delay since there were many items in the auction and I am sure that I wasn't the first one on the list. As a whole, I recommend bidding on items in the next auction. The shipping on my item is $33.00. For what it is and the size of the box, I think it is very reasonable. Rick

Hello Rick and All, I, on the other hand, would like to discourage everyone from bidding on the next lot because I'd like to be the only one bidding! Come on Rick -- keeping this a secret will guarantee lower costs for you and me! Cheers, Andry |

I retract my previous statements so that Andry and I will be the only ones bidding in the next auction. There you go Andry, all fixed! Rick
