Hello, hope all is well.

I am impressed for you deciding to get this unit. That is something I would like to get also. That should make it clear that I know very little, next to nothing about this product.

I did review some of the positive and negative reviews of this on Amazon. There is perhaps much I don’t fully understand, but one comment which was a positive one indicates this:

“It should be clearer to the mandatory use of the switching power supply unit 60061 or 60041.”

I am not certain this answers your question. Sometimes reviews do give some useful insight or help you ask the right questions You might want to check out all the reviews because this is a substantial investment for you and it helps to understand as much as possible. As always, Marklin support seems lacking and the more you know helps in the long run.

You probably already have checked this out, but perhaps others might enjoy reviewing the information in this document.

Best wishes with this, let us know how it works for you. Take good care. Hope this is useful to you.

Good start track plan. Not too much for a beginner. I presume the dark red is a shadow yard below grade. The three CS3 power supplies are either 100 volt for Japan,120 for Canada/USA, or 240, for Europe.

Hi Waldo,
The CS3 has the capability of drawing this layout. It can illustrate much more complicated layouts than this. It even offers two methods, control panel or control desk. There is a you tube video that you should check out to see if it does what you want, Marklin Video. It is video number 6.
Regards,
Roger
