Hello,
I would like to build a small Z scale layout (my first one) in an Aluminum case, but I wasn’t able to find one after quite a few hours of searching the internet.
Would you know if it is possible to find one with about 90x60x15cm somewhere ?
Thanks

Have looked on muscal instrument/sound equipment websites? I'm sure there would be a flight case of a suitable size. Happy hunting! Chris

In Leroy Merlin there are some tool boxes in aluminum, just don't know if they are large enough for what you want.

Well, you might want a jewelers briefcase for a watch collection.

Chris I had a look at musical instruments fly cases, there are a few available with the good length, but never with the correct width. I will try to go to a musical instruments store in my region, and ask them. It will probably easier than looking on the internet without knowing where to look .. I also found firearms cases, same issue, length is fine but depth isn't... a shame, I liked the finish and they were cheap I asked for quotes from "on demand suppliers" on the web, but this time the price was a show stopper... although the finish looked "industrial" I could build one in wood, it could look nicer, but a lot more fragile... prone to scratches... could be much heavier too.... it is still in the "options list" I checked already for tools cases, but all cases are too small my biggest issue is that I am still like a kid, I would love to be in a position to build my very first Z layout for yesterday... I would like to build the layout in a case, and it means that the size of the layout will be case dependent if I purchase an aluminium one, and I am not keen yet on the "wood case option"... Quite a few of my RC transmitter cases are completely identical with subtle size differences, but same corners, handles, hinges, finish of the aluminium panels... I would love to find out where they get these parts from and build one myself.... it would be less nice than wood, but certainly more scratch proof... and light...

I've seen N and Z scale suitcase layouts. You might be better off using a small to medium size hard travel luggage.

I believe that these are new items and Modellbahnshop-lippe suggests that they will become available in Q4 2025. Carim

Hello, I have found a case with a very similar size to the smallest Noch cases. It is 55 x 35 cm
I am about to start laying out a few rails on it :)
I am going to check how to post images on the forum, the first image I added seems to have been deleted by an admin maybe ?
