I built a double-reversing loop a few years ago, but it didn't work. The locomotives kept getting stuck. When I returned to it today, I realized the track plan didn't work; there was a misalignment. I then tried to draw a new plan but kept getting stuck. The idea is that trains coming in from the yard on the bottom right would run around counterclockwise and out from the bottom switch on the left. Trains coming in from the station tracks on the upper left would run clockwise and out the top switch on the left. My problem is that I would like to have the standard distance of 7.4 mm between the exit tracks from the circle and the neighboring tracks, but it just won't work. Please help.  The switches to the far left, are just to set up the proper distance between the tracks. P. S. I scoured this site and googled furiously, all to no avail. |

Have you any small various C track pieces to try to adjust the curves? It's ok if the loop is not a perfect oval or out of round. I agree that it is difficult to comprise.

I agree that it is difficult to comprise. Thank you, yes I got the central "circle" to work now using some smaller pieces, that was the problem before that made operation difficult. This attempt cures that problem but creates problems getting the exit tracks to have the correct distance to their parallel tracks. |

So you are attempting something similar to what alsterstreek is proposing in this post ... It is also used in the post that follows that one. I can't find another version that is better presented. I thought it was in the "C Track Topic ..." but I can't find it.

P. S. I scoured this site and googled furiously, all to no avail. So you are attempting something similar to what alsterstreek is proposing in this post ... It is also used in the post that follows that one. I can't find another version that is better presented. I thought it was in the "C Track Topic ..." but I can't find it. Thank you - yes, that is what I was attempting to do, but instead of stacked, use the same "circle" for reversing each part of the dogbone. |

Thank you for your input - it helped, I found the picture with the 'wye' and it helped me solve the problem Here is the trackplan - now to build it.  |
