Happy New Year… Im coming across to Germany on the 10th February for a week, arriving in Frankfurt and making my way across to Berlin and Hamburg to attend a couple of concerts. I have a number of days free, so Im looking to create a plan to travel to visit Marklin Stores or Individuals that specialize in used (post 1980) Marklin. I will probably grab a rental car to drive, so over the week can cover a number of locations… I did think of heading south to Stuttgart and then across to Munich (to see Porsche Marklin layout) but Im fairly open to suggestions…. Does anyone have any advice on who they would recommend I reach out to visit? (Looking for quality used, not new) Cheers Mark

Modellbahncentrum at Munich Ostbahnhof is a known reseller of used Maerklin. http://www.modellbahncentrum.deSchweickhardt in Waiblingen also has used goods. https://www.modelleisenbahn.com/second/You will find second hand trains at a lot of local shops. Browse the cities you will be heading to alongside the term "gebrauchte Modellbahnen/Modelleisenbahnen" and "Maerklin aus zweitem Hand" Michas in Berlin also is a known seller of used models: https://www.michas-bahnhof.deIf you haven't been exposed to other brands like Roco, LS Models, ACME, etc a trip to Germany is a great way to find out about other models that you can run with your Maerklin. Have a good trip. Regards Mike C

But if you are going that far then you may also like to visit the Freilassing Museum in the engine sheds there. It is about 133km north of the Porsche Museum, and the buildings around the engine shed are modelled by Faller.

That depends of course. The avge. difference for a 400 km. trip at 100 km/hr and 140 km/hr is about 5 minutes. Zero to 100 in anything with a 4 cylinder turbo is adeqate. I took a guess because that is the difference between driving 55 mph. and 60 mph. in a 250 mile trip.

Hello, there is a German website and forum similar to this one dealing with all vintage things Märklin and other companies. It is the "Forum Alte Modellbahnen". You will find a section showing all upcoming swap markets for the next month. Here is the link. https://www.altemodellba...rmine-und-Auktionen.htmlOf couse, February markets are not yet listed, but just remember this link and have a look from time to time. Cheers, Hans |
I like M-track and my things that run on it were built between 1959 and 1972. |

Maybe I dont get what you are trying to say, but a 400km trip at 140km/h takes less than 3 hours (Actually 2,86 hours). At 100km/h it will of course take 4 hours (Duh). :-) |

You may walk this if you are fit. |
