Caveat #1 I think this is where this belongs?

Caveat #2 My question arises from reading the thread:

https://www.marklin-users.net/fo...ations--Is-it-protypical

Caveat #3 I am quite hopeless when it comes to scratch-building, so kit or pre-built is my goal for a curved station model.

So. As far as I can find there have been very few model stations created that already have the curved platform.

Faller has had their kit B-107 Seebruck back in the day (although it was a carry over (I believe) to H0 from their TT range (as #3005 which had only the straight platform), adding the optional curved platform for H0)

https://www.altemodellbahnen.de/...geoeffnet.html#msg314504

Faller also had (way way back) #105 Talhausen prebuilt (also over time with both curved and straight platforms)

https://www.altemodellbahnen.de/...Talhausen.html#msg305231

Are there others? Blushing

Thanks all ThumpUp

I have made some of my platforms out of polystyrene foam board. One of them in an S shape.

Hi Jimmy
I agree! Nothing beats the charm of a station on a curve BUT:
- forget about coupling / uncoupling in the station
- it is only nice when large radii are used (flexible track)
- the use of curved / credible turnouts is tricky
- the platform has to be scratch-build (no big deal cith flexible border)
- install a separately-assembled building without base plate on the platform

Flexible platform border

Dude! ThumpUp Oy! Woot

Johnjean

Agreed on most points (some of which you mentioned also on the "Prototype" thread)! I realize that the 2 items I mentioned above are most likely R1 radii, so that does make for a bit of a, shall we say..."constriction"? Unsure as to rolling stock, coupling, etc. Sneaky And turnouts? Oy! And I had not actually seen that flexi-border! Merci, mon ami!

Those are nice Jimmy! I didn't know the top station is/was made. Looks fairly newer to me. I sort of have one on my layout. It's a Heljan modern house, which I trimmed the grass mat at the back to curve with the tracks.

märklinist,

As near as I can tell, the B-107 with the swoopy roof (which I really like a lot!) was "New" in 1970, and available through 1975. Perhaps not a big seller? Who knows?

Whisper Mode On Faller has their 110128 Winterberg station with a swoopy roof at €150/$180+, but it has a straight platform; and it is a "bit" LOL bigger than I am working with....Wink Whisper Mode Off

The 105 was 1955-58 (wood/paper).

I have rarely seen either the 105 or B-107 on the market, but one lives in hope! ThumpUp

So, not to drift too far off on a tangent (WHO? Me? Jimmy? Tangent? Surely you jest! LOL LOL LOL ), however, in keeping with the Quest for The Grail...Blink and wanting to leave no stone unturned, nor any avenue unexplored...Wink

I mention, as information, that Hornby does have curved platforms Ready-made (but at 1:76 00), upon which one could place a small, narrow depth Halt or Station...Unsure not quite there yet Unsure

It will all buff out in the end!ThumpUp

I fond a scrap of grey Plastruct sheet in my spares drawer. I can cut a curve profile and glue it to the track side of a station too. This is available in different thicknesses from Walthers, etc.

Yes indeed! Although I would truly, really, without reservation appreciate the B-107 Swoopy Roof in H0 rather than closer to TT, but meh, beggars can't be choosers...LOL LOL LOL I will take it if I can get it! Love
