Hello BigGrin

I have become the happy owner of a Marklin 29244.

I would like to extend the tracks according to the drawing I posted on the forum. I used SCARM software. On the drawing I marked the place where the tracks are slightly shifted but the program does not detect the error.

Therefore I would like to ask if this will work well? Thank you in advance for your answer. BigGrin

There is a bit of give and take with ctrack. Usually if you are pretty close it will work.

Re; give and take: Not too much though. Especially on curving gradients. If the horizontal plane is off where the track join, the center studs can catch the couplers. Even on strait- way's. If the inside or outer rail has a gap, the Loco's or cars can derail, and you may have a current continuity gap. You can shim under the uneven track joints and sections to even this up. You can hide shims of wood, or other materials like rubber, or plastic with Lichen or other foiliage materials.

Scarm has adjustable tolerances for gaps and angles. Make them smaller and mismatches appear. I use M track, which has greater mismatch tolerances than click c track.

Thank you.

I set the tolerance to 1 mm, and at the marked point at the cross there is a gap of 1.2 mm.

Maybe someone has an idea how to do it correctly?

It' will be fine. The layout is flat and big (has enough pieces) to be flexible enough to compensate for the 1.2 mm offset.

Laugh Laugh Laugh

Unfortunately, I don't have a permanent layout.

The tracks will be laid out every now and then to play with my 2-year-old daughter. That's why I came up with something that will give more variety than driving in circles.

I already have a digital set 24802 and I'm thinking about how to diversify it.

When I first bought any C track in 2000, I had a larger flat oval with R2, and a siding with R1 as well, with the 2902, and 2904 extension sets which included both left and right narrow and wideer turnouts. I still have it all, but some of the first C track that was made with BASF plastic got brittle and cracked. The turnouts didn't, so when I built my new layout, I added solenoid motors to them, and use M 83 external decoders.
