I believe this is Marklin 8895, a Br 74, one of my favorites.

Here is the owner manual for this one. It shows how to remove the shell on this model. (But a newer version, the process is the same). This model is not held together with screws, it is just a press fit.

It is not necessary to remove the drive wheels to do this in the future, in fact with the wheels on, it gives you something to hold onto. If you are not familiar with these tank and other steam locomotives, you are going to have a bit of a time getting these wheels back in place in the proper way. It may seem the locomotive will not work until you do.

I suggest searching this forum for the term quartering for some help on what to do. The zscale locomotives are small and may be difficult to handle, but eventually you will get it together and working again.

To reassemble this shell, reverse the process shown, I just insert the motor end into the shell and then press in the front.

Having a difficulty removing the shell is a good indication no one has taken this locomotive apart. They get easier to separate when taken apart more.

While you have it off, spot of oil on the top of the motor casing is a good idea.

If you think it important, the Marklin LED light would work with this one, a small shim will help make contact.

The joy of replacing the drive wheels remains. I could not find a YouTube on this, best wishes, I am certain you will get it.
