Hi to all,
I'm visiting the below cities and would be interested in thoughts on Märklin dealers. I've been to München many times and am familiar with Gleis11 and the (what seems to be former Crying ) Karstadt store near Hbf; I read earlier here there's a Karstadt "replacement" store for Märklin above/below Gleis11's store; the website for this Märklin-Store even has the logo for Gleis11 on their website so I'm assuming they're related/cooperating.

Any ideas you can post will be most welcome!

A Coruña
Amsterdam
Barcelona
Bilbao
Buñol
Cadiz
Cartagena
Lisboa
München
Portland/Weymouth
Porto
Roma
Valencia

Long shot: Malta!?

Thank you & sincerely,
Brian

Hi Brian, all,

I suggest you use the Store Locator on the Märklin website: https://www.maerklin.de/en/service/store-locator

I have not been in a decade, but "spielart" in Munich is a lot of fun for used, vintage and miscellaneous stuff. I tried to go a few months ago but they were closed that day, the point being they are still in business. I just can't verify for recent amount of stock/worth the visit etc...

OOOOOOOHHHH!!!!
I'll be following this thread with interest - I've just received an award at my work (Woolf Fisher Policing Awards) which includes 6 weeks 'special leave' and $25k NZD travel money. There is a work component expected but I would LOVE to base my trip around Europe (spec Germany) visiting MiniturWunderland (sp) and bringing home a suitcase of second hand 1980's locos/wagons.
Any German based law enforcement members on the forum?
Cheers
Steve

I remember Bacelona being excellent for Marklin. That was a while back, don't know if things have changed

And then there is a shop in Bologna whose name escapes me. I bought some AC Rivarossi there which is quite hard to find.

Hi Brian,

You didn´t write when you´re coming over here. But if you´re coming after the 31 july. I´d want to recommend:

Bentink Modelspoor M V C van der Bent
Loseweg 39
7315 BB Apeldoorn (NL)
Tel: 055 521 22 70
https://bentinkmodelspoor.nl/

Bentink is one of the leading MRR-stores in The Netherlands with several own special models available only at their store and also exquisitely weathered models.
The store is in Apeldoorn about 55 miles from Amsterdam. You can easily reach this town by train and the shop is about 1.3 miles from the trainstation.

Enjoy your stay in Europe! :)

Thank you to all for your ideas and suggestions. I've used the Märklin Store Locator and it's somewhat helpful, but also not always accurate or up to date. It's a great starting point!
I head over to Europe in early September and leave at the end of the month after all these visits, so I'm looking forward to exploring and finding all these suggestions.
Thank you again.
Brian
