This thing. Wow. If I was independently wealthy and could build a house around a train layout, it would be a definite item. For the price of a good used car at around $8,000 with the powered display stand 59968 ... You get a 50" long (that is it takes up the ENTIRE mantel over the fireplace (wont fit in normal bookcases at all). Weighs 15.6 kilos... about 35 lbs ! Man, so who if anyone is looking at getting this here? Capture.PNG (1,387kb) downloaded 109 time(s). |

And needing a minimum 40" radius just for ops, recommended 55" radius for curves... Oh, probably not this time around for me... |

The price per Kilogram is not high. It is approximately 500 euros, much less than for the swiss 38590 where it is approximately 1000. Anyway we can see from other perspective, I mean price/length based classification. Compared to the Northlander (they almost have the same length), the Northlander is much cheaper per meter! |

I'm a novice in the world of Marklin. Does Marklin usually re-release these kind of models? My father and I are contemplating purchasing 55990 with its display case and are wondering if we need to hurry up and place an order soon.

Märklin don’t typically do additional runs of a model. After many years , which could be 10-20, you may get an updated model. Generally if you want a model it is recommended that you purchase the model when it is made. Looking to pick up a used one or hoping the supply lasts long is risky. |

Oh, there is an English version now, sounds like it was dubbed in the US. I think they need some training to synchronise the dubbing with the video presentation - oh, and don't start to crack up with laughter (almost does when the tender is put on the foam blocks). Now have they translated the functional stand video?
