Hello Community,
I am moving to a new place and I need to move my train layout. It's 6 by 8 feet table with nearly 300 meters of running wires underneath it.
The table is in one piece and it has an airport with a vertically raising/lowering platform as you can see in the picture.
I understand the approach is to cut the layout into modules and move it in pieces. However I'd rather have it get it done by a pro, I understand they have been many expos of train layouts in the city of Montreal and exhibitors had to move their layouts in modules and I was hoping there is someone will to do the job for a fee of course.
Does anyone know who can do this type of job (for a fee of course) in the city of Montreal, Canada ? Thanks.

Can you edit the post so that the images are not upside down?

I would have thought any decent house moving company could move a 8’x6’ layout in one piece.

I thought so too. But it's too large to fit through the doors.

Luckily you don't have too much scenery and topography on it that could be damaged. Remove the buildings, and the heliport, and legs. Then tilt it up and cover it with a blanket. Two person job to handle it. Lay down a foam pad on the truck floor to rest it on. Screw eyelet screws on the bottom side, and tie them to the truck wall with thin rope or wire at the top.or lean the top side against the truck wall and lay a mattress against the bottom side to hold it in transit. Or It could just lay flat on the floor on a foam pad or mattress.

I build architectural models (retired), have had customers ask for a model built to X scale.

Where is it being displayed & do you need to move it. Get it through doors, in cars & in lifts.

Ah!!!

I have heard of one model, they demolished $100,000 of a building's wall to move the model & this was in the 1990ies.

Look where you can put the "chainsaw" through it. Install plugs either side to make rewiring easy.

Not to forget structural integrity while in pieces & removable legs etc. & Some form of racking system to transport sections.

Sledge hammer maybe the alternative!

Yeah, this doesnt look too hard;
Remove the plane.elevator.
Remove Burg Falkenstein.
Unscrew the Ikea-style legs.
-And it will fly through doors and stairs like a kite...
