I recently purchased a pack of Loco Cards, on inserting one into the slot on my MS2, all I get is a message saying Error reading loco card. This happens with all the cards in the pack I bought. I was putting the cards in the wrong way.
I’m able finally to save data to the cards, but the MS2 will not read the data. So loco IDs saved but not readable.

Hi
There are only 3 possibilities:
- you insert the cards the wrong way
- the cards are defective (low probability)
- the MS2 (especially its contacts on the card reader) are defective (low probability)

I can't say much because I seldom use the ones I have since all my locos are MFX.
Cheers
Jean

No, they are not magnetic, they have a chip in them.

But I wonder if the problem is they have had data loaded on them, and whatever error checking system the ms2 uses to verify them is failing with a faulty checksum.

I would just try saving loco data to it and see if that fixes the problem.
