Hallo Dreileiters, This is open letter to Mr. Unholz in Switzerland and Mike C in Canada !!! Spring cleaning! So …I'm writing to simply ask this - I'm looking for a Swiss flashing rear train light set preferably from Italec AG of Henngart in Switzerland. Do anyone know where I can find one or who have such modules in their shop? Frankly, I have tried contacting it company ( manufacturer) in Switzerland directly through their website but it seems they are not interested or do not respond to my inquiries. Please let me know if anyone of you know of other options for flashing H0 Swiss pattern train tail lights. Best regards, Marklineisenbahn Edited by user 15 March 2024 16:28:15(UTC)

Also thanks for other links and suggestions. I wasn’t aware of HAG having such devices in their collection/ production. Main Reason I opted for itelec is because it’s small 2x1cm and easy to conceal in Roco’s SBB Sputnik caboose. Price also is OK 35 SFR for palatine and light fixture in H0. I guess they don’t want to deal with overseas customer. Frankly I had similar experience/issues with some German dealers who refused to sell to me and bluntly said they won’t ship model to US of A. Roco at one point had a model of the Sputnik with tail light. I don't know if it was on constantly or whether it blinked. I think it was 46964 (SBB) https://www.ebay.de/itm/395263093132?As Stefan said, Hag had a taillight unit in their catalog for quite a while. I don't know if there are any dealers who would still have this item in stock. I seem to recall the model number was 508. Christian at Eyro seems to have it: https://eyro.ch/onlinesh...dex.php?cPath=53_137_159From my memory, the Sputnik was often not at the end of the train, but rather about 2/3 of the way to the rear, so that the operator could observe the end of the train as well as the middle of the train. In longer trains, the lead locomotive was often aided by a second 1/3 of the way back. This changed in the 1970s with the introduction of the Re 6/6 which replaced the last Crocodiles and some of the Ae 6/6 on the Gotthard route. Regards Mike C

The Märklin 46917 SBB EAOS car has one blinking red tail light. It looks nice to me, but I have no clue if the pattern is near the prototype. |

As to other (German and Swiss) dealers not wanting to do world wide business: I understand this a bit, because customs and VAT problems plus increasing post office regulations and costs are nowadays so nerve racking that one likely prefers to evade all the hassle. And this is not a one-way street: Shipping from the rest of the world including the EU to Switzerland is exactly the same or even worse.

Hallo Mr.Unholz, Again thank you for the reply. I contacted Mr.Eymann before I posted here so we are in touch. He is very knowledgeable and helpful and I did some business with EYRO shop. Unfortunately he does not carry itelec products. We will see what Christian will come up with! Regards, Marklineisenbahn

Hallo Mike C, Thanks for fishing out for me that Roco SBB Sputnik wagon in question but unfortunately to me as it’s German seller won’t ship to US of A. As I mentioned in my earlier post sometimes I spend hours chasing the particular model or part and get “bucket of cold water “ when seller refuse to ship to me to USA. ( any excuse would go ) And this is the case here … see attached picture. Regards, Marklineisenbahn

Hallo Dreileiters, Well , Problem with Roco’s Sputnik is that wagon is extremely light and mounting slider underneath is not a good idea. The better option is to install battery pack. Besides I still had to put some led weights to caboose cabin in order to run it properly. So mounting light board is a tricky business and requires very “ tiny-tainy” platine. I encountered this problem with some other models as well Roco K.Bay.Sts. “Cybele “ and or TRIX K.Bay.Sts DXII just to mention few. After fitting decoder and slider I had to add dead weight in water tanks and whenever I could get it in in order to improve contact and traction on Märklin switches cause DXII was very lousy performer… Regards, Marklineisenbahn

You can ask Mr Eymann if he can order the item from Itelec or whether you can order it and have it shipped to him and then have him forward it to you with an order? I have had a few dealers that have been willing to do that for me over the years.
Also, please correct the topic title from "Schweitzer" to "Schweizer"
Regards
Mike C

Mike C Hallo Mike C, Sorry for the typo ! As I stated earlier itelec AG did not responded back and I did contact Mr.Eymann and his reply was simply: “Quote…Vielen Dank für Ihre Nachricht. Wir unterhalten keine Geschäftsbeziehung zur Firma Itelec und verkaufen daher auch nicht deren Produkte.…End of Quote “ Regards, Marklineisenbahn

This kind of blinking tail lights is used also in Italy and a few companies make it. Usually the kit has two independent lights, this one has only one light for Swiss trains blinking light

This may not work for everyone but some members have relatives in Europe. They could purchase the item and reship. Wonder if an underground network could be created here.

I’m using this service in cases required: https://www.mailboxde.com/You get a German address, and as shipping within Germany often is free of charge, one can accept the extra added fee IMHO. I add the address as an additional address e.g. on eBay.de. |
