The idea of this poll is to gauge the interest in HO scale British models. I have deliberately restricted the poll because Märklin have modelled an iconic locomotive used in the eastern part of Britain, the 39968 Flying Scotsman for era VI. For a similar locomotive which Märklin may consider to be design-able and sale-able, the A4 was a streamlined progression on the A3. This poll asks if you might purchase another locomotive design. An A4 streamlined body tooling built from 1935 to 1938 (tick any or all that are desirable) as either: Era II LNER 1935-40 with full streamlining and skirting Era II LNER 1940-47 with full streamlining but skirting removed Era III British Railways 1948-68 fully streamlined but skirting removed There are many in-service variations on the A4 class such as liveries, single or double chimneys, and different tenders which questions are beyond our scope. I ticked here. but priority would be coaches (I ticked in Poll 3) and the A4 (Sir Nigel Gresley in current blue and Mallard). Only after these I would go for another A3. I must say I am very satisfied with the FS in looks, running and audio!

I would like to see in LNER Blue and BR Dark green as two locos pack.
I think Marklin will production A4 but not yet until in Year 2038?
2038 will mark 100 years of Mallard.

I would love to see a Mallard, instant pre-order for me.
I'm currently looking for a steamer as I sold the one I had last year, the A4 would fit perfectly, in green or blue.
I'm not one to put a lot of weight onto realism, so I don't really care if there are prototypical wagons, as long as it looks alright. I've neen seeing a lot of people on this very forum making very nice combinations with existing sets of wagons and the Flying Scotsman:) |
C-track, temporary layout. I try to run my locos as much as possible:)

Not that many responses, probably a dozen people. But the clear majority would like a pre-war version of the A4 streamlined engine in LNER colours. Thank you Kimball |
