It takes probably 45 mins for the Sound to be updated in the loco. That's no problem for me, I can set it to run while I get on with other things. I don't have a Sound Programmer. Yes, I believe that would be much quicker. However, I have mostly mSD decoders without the 21pin plate, so the decoder wires are all soldered and attached in the loco, so the Sound Programmer wouldn't work for me. Regards John

I managed to update my CS2 and then use it to update a couple of M loks to 3.2.1.0 directly. I hope to learn more, like getting it to work through the mDT etc. which might hopefully get me to a more recent release. Note that these loks had 'built in' decoders, so technically I guess not the mSD3 decoder but similar I am sure. In any case, happy to be making forward progress and to give my CS2 something to do! There also appears to be a "copy'n'paste" of the text for 346715 and 379408 (Nachrüstdecoder / Digital : MM, DCC, MFX , RailCom) In the ChangeLog (but not the header definition, which does not supply HW implementation) both also state "mSD3 PluX22 decoder with RailCom"

(in msd3 and factory-fitted decoder projects, and not Plux22) and when enabled, some railcom options appear in the mDecoderTool (same as in Plux22 projects). however, I have not tested to program it to a locomotive/decoder, as I don't have any rail com controller to test with. However, I don't know if the decoders actually support it?, and if I have found all the settings required........ The standard mSD3 retrofit 21MTC decoder project with RailCom "enabled":

It sounds to me like the 37046 may have an earlier msd decoder. Only items with msd/3 decoders have the sound project published on the product page, but I don't know if any early msd/3 decoders have unpublished sound files.
