webserver 2.5.2(6) 26.02.2024 ** cs3-gui 2.5.2(6)02.2024 ** lokicons 2.5.2 17.01.2024 ** spielewelt 2.5.2(0) 19.01.2024 ** candevices 2.5.2 22.02.2024 ** decoder FW V3.3.1.0/SpurN 09.02.2024 **
by translate.google.com
Version 2.5.2 Bug fixes Improvements Update Lokicons Lokicons of the new products for 2024 have been added. Bug fixes S88 feedback for PC programs The S88 feedback has been made functional. The background is an incorrect implementation of the CAN command. The correction was made incompatible with the PC programs. It could only be executed through the CS3. Mfx third-party decoder registration and processing When processing / registering / re-registering external mfx decoders, it could happen that this could not be completed and thus got stuck in an endless loop. For existing decoders, the message “The decoder has a changed firmware version and will be re-registered for security reasons” appears. However, this process could not be completed and so it kept coming back. Likewise, registering new decoders was not completely possible. Newly created tractions Newly created tractions could not be controlled. The cause of this has been resolved. USB device detection An error in reporting USB devices to the WebApp has been fixed so that the USB devices are now displayed correctly in the WebApp. Incorrect display of booster consumption values The booster consumption values were incorrectly interpreted by the web server, causing the web app to display the incorrect values. Switch between WebApp and MobileWebApp An error occurred while switching between the WebApp and MobileWebApp. Calling /app via mobile devices continued to point to /mobilewebapp. The bug in the browser switch has been fixed. Additionally, both apps tried to access the same browser cache, which caused the MobileWebApp to stop loading. This issue has also been resolved. List of Lokicons in the file manager is empty Previously, if there were corrupt Lokicons in the Lokicons folder, an empty list was returned. Now these icons are ignored and a list without these icons is returned. Fixed error when resetting the locomotives An error in the web server meant that the locomotive was not read out after a reset. Fixed error in displaying events Due to an error in interpreting the event data, only empty events were displayed. Fixed error uploading Lokicons JPEG and GIF files could not be uploaded because the file extension was not correctly changed to PNG. Fixed an error when programming via the DecoderTool An error in the web server meant that programming decoders via the DecoderTool was not possible. |

It’s still a bugs with using ESU 5 decoder... When putting a new engine, it read decoder but doesn't show it under the engine list. Has the latest FW and it has never been on track before When I put back another engine it start reregistration that engine like a second one and CS3 after a minutes go into STOP mode |

I removed all engines with ESU 5 decoder to avoid CS3 going into STOP mode. It's getting ridiculous that M won't be able to handle this |

Why don´t you use DCC protocol instead with ESU loco? |

Goofy, because ESU M4 decoders are mfx auto, and supposed to work with the CS3 like before. My JC sielbahn has an ESU M4 decoder and does.

Reading this list of bug fixes it feels like there were A LOT of big problems with 2.5.1. It should never have been approved for release. I would hope they are improving their testing protocols.

It is a science if the do their own standard and doesn't understand it.. or if they don't bother to test the change before publish Should we have to wait until next Christmas for an update again? |

I had expected that after two months they should minimum have resolved decoder issues. Still broken links and missing information on the English page so they doesn't seems so important customers. |

Probably so. Marklin doesn't employ a dedicated full time software engineer or department. However, if they use well experienced consultants per diem, you would think they could be able to resolve this promptly. Unless they have to first look at the entire packet of data to analyze.

They rename the link name to 2.5 instead 2.5.2 of the Update-Information CS 3 PDF, so that's maybe means no new information |

A pdf is not code in a correct format. I'm not installing anything more for this unless I see a red dot when I connect my CS3 to the web.

Marklinist here (all my equipment is Märklin except one LokSound 5 equipped loco. I use V2.5.1(0) now for quite a while, with Rocrail and with my iPhone. There are MANY things that are reported in the list of problem fixes that were VERY SPECIFIC and that I could not notice using Märklin locos with Märklin decoders. The problem related to M88 is NONEXISTENT to me using with Rocrail. What I am trying to say is: let's not exagerate on how bad V2.5.1(0) was. To me: no problem with the ESU MFX usage No problem with M88 handling of detectors for a PC (Rocrail) The only bug I noticed (not in the list BTW) is the handling of the favourite loco list when using a smartphone (iPhone 11 in my case). No big deal, until fixed, have only one loco in the favourite list. So, in conclusion Train modelers who like to mix brands a lot are more affected than pure Märklinists like me. Cheers Jean |

There has been no update to the release notes (other than to comment that the version 4.13 was available in the CAN package. The release note text themselves are for the prior release) So it comes down to "observation" and I will note the appearance of the a Setting option ... - called "Loco Symbol" - with options for - - Show - - Hide. This is seen with the 60653/7 Mobile Station but not the 60667 Mobile Station WLAN Comment: it would be nice if they kept these "settings" (Display Brightness, Tacho Type, Loco Symbol) grouped together rather than leaving "functions" (Factory defaults, Updates) in the middle of the list I also observe a change in the icon graphics (may not have been the very latest release) - e.g. the inertial "lead weight" icon is seen - whereas the MSW version is still showing the Tortoise - The "Shunting function" icon does show the Tortoise coorcetly I also observe that the MS retains its own/old Locos (this may be a legacy issue of "same CS3, BUT not bothering to refresh the Loco Roster" - i.e. Locos had been removed from CS3) |
