Hello! Does anyone know which of these locomotives have:
Better running characteristics (silence , best motor, low speed behaviour)
Are more detailed according to the period ( as Br 05 is 3 cylinder which is the correct operation sound between the two?)
Do you know any sites where i can buy one ?

Thank you for your responses in advance!BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin

The 39052 is only available brand new to Insider Club members who have completed 20 years of membership. It is painted in a fictional steel blue paint scheme. You may be able to find a second hand model, they have been issued for at least 10 years. I did see one on a German auction site a little while back.

IIRC the 39050 was also originally an Insider item for 2008. It is painted in the standard black/red livery. Again you may be able to find one on the second hand market.

I think you will find there is essentially no difference between these locos. The only real difference is that the 39050 has a soft-sine motor with an original model mfx decoder, while the 39052 has a 5 pole high efficiency motor. Depending on the age of the model you find the decoder will be an msd or an msd/3.

I'm probably biased but I also like my 39052 ThumpUp
My 39052 is an early one with a first-generation mfx decoder. and probably with 1st gen "Marklin" new dc motors.
I suspect that if you buy a recent one, you will find the latest gen mfx+ decoder inside, and with the "best" sound.

Buying 39050 might be i little risky as it has an SDS motor and they are a bit more complicated to repair if you have trouble with the motor or driver electronics. but as long as they work they drive quite nicely.
