Happy New Year to all. I have an old (red box) set of the tinplate Mitropa passenger cars with metal truck chassis, # 351, 352, 353, 354 (AC power). The wheels are in horrid shape as most are either loose or cracked and operation is impossible. I am having trouble getting the proper Märklin part numbers for the replacements from online retailers in North America. I've found a few suppliers in Germany recommended by a Facebook group, but it appears Marklin offers cheaper alternatives through retailers. If anybody can provide the part number for the wheels, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome Scott! Yes, wheel corrosion is very common for vintage model trains. Marklin USA is in Jefferson City Mo. When you get the correct wheel size, they can get them. You can email them and maybe they can consult with Rick Sinclair who is the repair specialist for help with the proper wheels too.

Thanks. I've emailed Märklin, but got the canned response "we're busy and will get back to you when we can." Fingers crossed.
