I have the 29792 ice 2 starter kit. I wish to install interior lighting in the carriages. I shall be glad if someone could guide me which lighting kit from marklin is compatible with this train set. Thanks

Not sure if there is a specific kit for it...
The one that comes close to the lighting provided in those coaches by the factory is kit #73150 as far as i know, but the print-board is a few cm to short to fit over the tabs provided on the interior walls... not that difficult to remedy that if you are handy...

You will need a pick-up shoe slider on one car bogie, at least. I don't know if this set accepts current conducting couplers. You can use Marklin standard white led kit, and affix the sticky tabs to the car roof to hold them in place above the seating. If they accept the current couplers, you get two in each kit. #72020 have the clip on vertical terminals if the cars accept these, but has no axle grounding piece. #7021 has it, but not the vertical terminals. It has two connecting wires for the led board. Both come with the coupler guide connecting terminals, and cuurent coupler pocket springs/terminals. Neither one comes with a slider. Certain car specific led kits incluse one, plus an axle grounding piice.

The ICE set has special current conducting couplers, the ones from the kit will not work. The couplers are available at lokmuseum.de. If you use those, you don't need the slider if you take the current from the lok.
"Marklin of Sweden" has a good video tutorial online on how to scratchbuild your interiour lighting in coaches:

How can you take the current from the loco's decoder if the current coupler isn't compatible? You won't be able to decouple the power end unit from the train.

Note, that you need to check for compatibility, and if your set does not have current-conducting couplers you replace them with ones that have it.

And note that the wagons and the "locomotives" have different part numbers, as they have slightly different shapes.

Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

Hard to find in the states. Rapido made them, but seem to be discontinued.
