Hello, I wondered if it is possible to deactivate the sound effects of mfx locomotives? For example the engine in the Start Up pack no. 29453 has "Diesel locomotive op. sounds". I would be using the digital controller from this pack. https://www.marklin.com/...ts/details/article/29453I wonder how to deactivate the sound, not switch it on/off with the remote controller. Is that possible at all? Many thanks for any thoughts on this. Steve

Why would you want to? Just don't turn the sound on at your controller. The sounds are not a default "ON", but OFF.

I suspect that the kids will go crazy with it and I will have permanent Diesel engine sound around the house.

You cannot disable the sounds with that starter set controller.
An MS2 could do the trick. Or a soldering iron. |

I'm only familiar with analogue ones on the inside.

I can think of at least 3 , non-intrusive, configuration options for this. * Un-map all the sound selections from any Fx button * Set the volume to 0 * introduce the "Mute" logical function In the case of the Mute function I would utilize the "always on" special function to invoke. This would be my preference as it retains the sound mapping and volume in case you wish to UnMute in the future The actual re-configuration of options (above) may not be performed with the "IR-Controller' (Märklin Power Control Stick) of the 29453, however if you have a colleague, club or dealer with a CS2 or CS3 they may be set and the settings will subsequently persist, when you return the loco to your own 'Start-Up" layout Edited by user 21 November 2023 07:54:01(UTC)
