HELP! Anyone near Ely (UK)... - ...that could update my MS2 for me?

Joined: 15/09/2023(UTC) Posts: 78 Location: Ely, England		This morning I had a MS2 delivered, from set 29000 (no locos, just extra track). But it is version 1.41 and needs updating, and there's no way I can afford a CS2 or CS3 to update it with. Is there anyone in the UK, remotely near Ely, that could update it for me please? I could come to you or vice versa.

Joined: 16/02/2004(UTC) Posts: 15,268 Location: DE-NW		Where did you read that version number? Set 29000 came in 2016. And MS2 software was at 2.5 back in 2015. Did you look at the trackbox software version maybe?

I'm sure I saw v1.4 somewhere when I first fired it up. Maybe it doesn't need updating then?

Joined: 16/02/2004(UTC) Posts: 15,268 Location: DE-NW		3.148 was the last version before the current 4.1 version and AFAIK it has all features one should have. I think 4.1 is the update needed for co-operation with the WLAN MS2.

Like you said, I probably saw the connector box version. When I tried a loco, there was no more than f8 shown and I wrongly assumed it was the software on the MS2, when in fact, it's possible (although I don't know for sure) that the loco doesn't have a lot of functions. Anyway, I've put my Roco Regio unit on and that does have all it's functions. So thanks again Tom.
