I ordered this LEDs 325745553387 to replace the original light bulbs. This LEDs do not flicker with DCC power. They are a bit too bright though. If I put in series a resistor will it dampen the brightness or not? Thank you

Hi I do it all the time (inserting a dimming resistor) because the LEDs become more and more efficient (luminous). So yes it works, no it does not create flickering (those which include a full wave rectifier - no matter how you connect DC voltage, they will light up. Cheers Jean |

Hi Ocram It varies depending on the number of LEDs (one dimming resistor per car and their efficiency. What I did is to order 1/4 W resistors (25 of each value) on ebay with values of 1k, 2,2 K 5.6kOhms for "une bouchée de pain" (costs peanuts) and so I adapt because I find that too bright a lighting is very unrealistic. some time has gone by and here I am again. PROBLEM One coach converted to LED lights and a 5.6 K Ohm resistor works nicely. I have converted another coach, same setting and components but the LEDs with the 5.6 KOhm resistor in series do not light up. As a matter of fact they do not light up with any resistor. Direct power from pickup shoe, they work. I tested with a multimeter each resistor and they work and show correct values. Why do you think these ones do not work? Ideas?m Thank you

Ideas?m Thank you What sort of lights are you using, as in how many LEDs in a string? I suspect that the number of LEDs in the string is too many, or the string has some other means of dropping the voltage, and an additional 5k6 is just too much to get any current to light them. And how is this string different from the first coach you did?

there are 3 LEDs in-line. There isn't anything hidden between them as I re-did the cabling in a more tidy way. By themselves, no resistor, they light up very brightly. These are the LEDs I have bought: 325745553387 The light holders are the vintage Marklin metallic ones made for tin plate coaches, they already were in the coach. Marklin catalogue 7077

Hi Not sure here but you must use a full wave rectifier so that any voltage will light the LEDs, otherwise in DC, in one direction the LEDs won't light up and in AC you will have flickering and half the lighting power Cheers Jean |

I'm using DCC. Why one coach works brilliantly and this one doesn't. This is my conundrum 🙄
