Thank you very much for the post. I like the swiss electric in green! Well, I like all, but I mean the one that is a temptation :-)

The Era III danish set looks like a really beautiful set with a nice combination of cars.
As for the Era III startset 29890 with a BR89, I am a little perplexed with those stake cars. Every other one I have had seem to have been marked as Era IV. Along with the markings/livery on the Gondola car. Of course the image doesn't provide the detail, but I guess I am in the dark about some of the livery in the III/IV transition period and I am interested in material that clearly squares within Era III. Can anyone look at the images and see what I mean?
Are there prototypical examples with that kind of stake car in Era III that you know of? |

A interesting note about tank loco T3 christmas. There are missing DCC protocol so i suppose only mfx can be use with Märklin system. |

For those who care about the prototype: Do not use the 43196 as shown in the brochure: The baggage compartment must be at the end of the pair, not in the middle as shown by Märklin. For all other -3yg coaches, the toilet must be at the end of the pair.
More Piko freight cars and BLI locos in the Märklin assortment. |
Regards Tom --- "In all of the gauges, we particularly emphasize a high level of quality, the best possible fidelity to the prototype, and absolute precision. You will see that in all of our products." (from Märklin New Items Brochure 2015, page 1) ROFLBTCUTS |

I love the Xmas tank engine - much less gaudy than the tender loco from a few years back - but I can't justify $600AUD on a model that will get run only a few times a year! |

They probably forgot to include it, it's on the product page. 37149It's a nice locomotive, but with one(?) small speaker, so how good will the sound quality be for the Christmas music? The decoder project Marklin released earlier indicates that it has a separate Susi sound decoder with all the sounds. (similar to the other T3's) there might also be a second br74 Christmas locomotive without sound, from some dealers or something like that. Märklin has published this decoder project: W036740-001_Dampflok-BR74-Weihnachtslok

The decoder project Marklin released earlier indicates that it has a separate Susi sound decoder with all the sounds. (similar to the other T3's) The sound on these locos is actually very good. The speaker sits just below the cab windows and uses the cab as a resonant chamber to increase the volume. I saw it on display at the Treff, but not operating, so can't tell if the Christmas music will sound good. I have had one of my (several - see my avatar) T3s apart to update the decoder. I don't know why you think it has a SUSI sound module as it has an msd/3 decoder. Now this one might have a SUSI module to extend the sounds available for the Christmas sounds, but I don't see a need for it.

That sounds promising, I have an older T3 that I believe has two small speakers and an 1st gen mfx+ decoder (firmware 2.17.19), the sound in that is ok, but it's not for music. According to the decoder projects, T3's have a mLD/3 with a SUSI sound module. If you take a look at the decoder project for a recent T3, you will see that it contains no sounds and all sound functions, activate a SUSI Fx command. E.g. take a look at the decoder project for the 37148. (the SUSI module seems to be integrated into the decoder plate.)
