What impresses me about this video is the way the driver "feels and adjusts" the regulator (throttle) constantly with his left hand. Maybe it is obvious (forgive me) but the human brain co-ordinates all the senses of speed, noise, vibration, and visuals and responds accordingly. Driving the steam locomotive engine displays this well.
