Need help registering snd operating all functions of DCC in my MARKLIN SNCF 241a and KM1 18-2031. If I just use DC what functions work?

Jaguar if your using a Esu Ecos Command station your Marklin digital locos will work perfectly with all functions on DCC. Not sure if it would work on DC. Just load the loco & tick the DC box & see what happens. I would be interested to hear if it works & what functions would work. I would test this theory out for you but my controller is in for touchscreen repairs.

Dave, much thanks for the response. I don’t have the ESU Ecos. I have the smaller ESU Command Control and it refuses to connect to my Märklin 241A despite putting it on Program Track and entering the DCC address of 3 and speed step at 28. Same with my KM-1 loco whose DCC address is 18.
I was told that the larger ECOS system automatically registers MARKLIN locos since it directly talks to the MARKLIN MFX decider. Maybe I need to return this command control version and get the more expensive ECOS.
Do you have a ESU- MARKLIN positive experience that yuh can share with me over the phone?
