Since a few days ago my IB 65000 (one of the first that came on the market), and with the last software update, began to have randomly a strange behavior:
Simultaneously flashing red and green stop and go lights, not responding to any key and doing one or more resets. This behavior was getting worse as the days went by, and at the end it was continuous and nothing could be done.

Then I decided to isolate the IB to see where the problem was coming from, I disconnected the PC, the s88 bus, the booster, a marklin c80 control, and the connection to the model, and I tried to turn on the IB. This time it worked fine, I had it on for 1 hour selecting some locomotive address in the hands so that the IB would work and everything was fine. Apparently the problem was not with the IB.

Then I connected the connection to the track, it went fine, and I ran some trains on the layout, there was no strange behavior.

I plugged in the booster, and within 5 minutes of plugging it in, the problem started again. I disconnected it and the IB kept working fine, then manipulating the booster connection cable I realized that 2 of the 4 wires were loose or half loose. I soldered them and when I plugged it in, everything went fine. I was testing for 1 hour without any problem.

Then I connected the s88 bus, the PC, and the c80 controller and everything was fine, problem solved.

I tell this in case it happens to someone and it can be of help.

Best regards

Antonio Martínez
