Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I am Mr Disaster regarding electrics and Marklin locos.
I have recently purchased a Marklin 3396 from a dealer in Germany, but of course, to improve running I would like to change the chip.
I am currently in the process of selling some of my locos to start a Swiss/German branch line layout, this was the reason for the purchase!
So my question does is does anyone have a set of instructions or video with of course a list of bits required, to do the conversion.

Or if the dealer offers the service an estimate of the cost?

Many thanks in advance
Harry

Hi

These videos should cover it, if your locomotive has the LFCM motor and can use the 60944 kit.
for decoder use eg. 60975 with sounds, or 60972 without sound.
(activate youtube auto-translate on the subtitles if needed)

An alternative is to keep the motor and use a 60906 decoder. (no sound or motor regulation on this decoder and it's a bit more nosy).
