When I was giving the old girl (3045) a run it did not sound right so checked and found that 2 of the gears appear to be warn out.

Looking at the parts diagram I believe need the following replacements:

11 - Gear - Z13/16 Part No. 205850
13 - Gear - Z40/14 Part No. 205870
Should I also replace the pins at the same time?
12 - Pin - Part No. 200030

I am having trouble finding who has these parts - or if they are still available.

Are these gears available under a different Part Code?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Owen

Hi Owen
The Märklin 3045 belongs to a long serie of locos to which 3027, 3047 belong
The latest Märklin exploded diagram is here https://static.maerklin....f33594765b1524484991.pdf
The last production was in 2018 with a ref 30470.
In the Märklinshop (where you buy Märklin spares normally), there are no spares available as of today.

There is a business in Germany called Ritter restaurationen that carries that sort of parts
The specific part for the 3045 are here https://ritter-restaurat...ampfloks-serie-3000/3045
The root source for parts is here https://ritter-restaurat...ampfloks-serie-3000/3047

Some are original and some are repros.

My loco, belonging to the same family is a G800 from 1950 with the key difference of a cast metal tender and 2 bulbs in front in a wooden box
Here is my "old girl" (I repainted it)
G800R.png

What happens most of the time is gears become very noisy but rarely give-up.

Cheers
Jean

Hello Owen, greetings from across the Tasman Sea Smile .

All the parts you allude to are available from (and are currently listed by) coccodrillo114 eBay store
(see images below, the prices are in AUS $) :

I mean, what do you now get in this world for $1.65 !! OhMyGod

This chap is in Italy. I have found him very efficient, reliable and with a comprehensive stock on hand.
Postage to me (similar distance to you in our antipodes) is cheap and takes about 3 weeks.

I find it complex to search for an item on his direct website https://www.ebay.com/str/coccodrillo114.
Instead I use this :
https://www.ebay.com/sch...klin+228980&_sacat=0
and then just type instead the part number I want in the enclosed box at the top.

Have fun,BigGrin

Regards,

PJ

I've used him multiple times for my renovations and I can confirm that he is good a reliable seller and if Marklin doesn't have the spare parts he most certainly has them

The 2 gears and pins in my 3045 have been replaced. The old girl is running just fine.

Does anybody know how to close or end a post? Or do they remain for future reference?

I might be wrong, but I think this is his website: https://www.mymarklin.com/category/topfocus/

I also bought some parts for the Seetal baby croc from him through Ebay a long time ago and was very happy.

Posts remain in perpetuity. You never know what a future visitor might find helpful.

They just drop off the current list when discussion stops but can still be found. BigGrin
