Yes, I saw them on a German shop site on instagram, but do not recall the name. You can try modelbahnshop Lippe Detmold, Modellbahn Union, etc. Or Google model paints for DB era 4. Modellbahn Union does have the sand beige when I searched era 4 German paints. Also try the Humbrol brand of paint.

One thought on paint match. Depending on your need for exactitude, type of rolling stock, and the appropriate Era, I like seeing the patch work of different colour tones on aged and weathered cars. We ought to see more of that, because if you are doing a touch up, its likely the finish will not be matched perfectly in texture and sheen aka shine. A bit of patchwork goes a long way to authenticity. Paint also fades over time due to sun exposure with IRL prototypes. Personally I keep looking for how to make my cars look more authentically dirty and naturally faded. Instead of working harder and paying more, working with the flow and reflecting more, observing more might be one path to satisfaction. My two cents. Mark

I found finding a shop that actually stocked the ivory range RAL paints to be a impossible when I looked. |

Thanks all for you kind help. I’m just going to use my usual paint I have for modelling my buildings ect. As the area I need to touch up, does not warrant spending out on the paint. And mixing up a paint, even if it does not match, would still look like it’s been touched up in the carriage depot. As I have already weathered the coach in question 👍 I’ll post a video when it’s done 👍 |
